PERRET BY LOSADA - DETENT CHRONOMETER Philibert Perret, Genève, ?Chronometre?, No. 15718, retailed by José R. Losada, London. Made circa 1870. Fine and rare, 18K yellow gold, hunting-cased, pocket chronometer with footed detent escapement and free-sprung helical balance spring. Accompanied by a fitted box and a gold and hardstone-set key.
C. Four-body, ?bassine et filets?, engine-turned covers with polished borders, curved band cast and chased with flowers and scrolls. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border. D. White enamel with black painted radial Roman numerals, subsidary seconds, outer minute track. Blued steel halberd hands. M. 18???, matte gilt, half-plate, fuse and chain, jeweled to the third wheel, four in screwed gold chatons, spring footed-detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with meantime and temperature adjustment screws, free-sprung blued steel helical balance spring with inner and outer terminal curves. Dial signed, movement signed by the retailer, case numbered. DIAM. 52 mm
