LOSADA RETROGRADE DATE PERPETUAL CALENDAR YELLOW GOLD Losada, 105 Regent Street, London, No. 6169. The case with London hallmarks for 1867-68. Made for the Hispanic market. Fine, and extremely rare 18K yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch with retrograde perpetual calendar.
Four-body, "bassine", by Alfred Stram (AS), covers, band and bezels entirely chased and engraved with floral and foliate decoration, front with engraved monogram (missing front glass). Hinged gold cuvette. Silver with applied gold decoration, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost applied gold leaf and flower pattern, center with applied gold flower basket, subsidiary dials for constant seconds, day and month indication, scale for retrograde date at 12. Blued steel fleur-de-lis hands. 17```, frosted gilt, fusee and chain, three quarter plate, jeweled to all three with screwed gold chatons, duplex escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, engraved cock with diamond endstone, index regulator.
