Ebonised, with caddy-top with hinged foliate gilt brass handle and pierced flower, vase and swag mount, ogee top molding, glazed side panels and back door, the front door with pierced foliate sound fret and cast gilt brass mounts, ogee base and raised on gilt brass bun feet. D. 17.5 cm., square, gilt brass with silvered chapter ring, radial Roman numerals and half-hour markers, inner quarter-hour chapter ring, outer minute chapter with Arabic five minute numerals, matted center with ringed winding holes, date aperture below 12 with foliate engraved surround, winged cherub mask spandrels, strike/silent lever above 12. Blued steel ?scroll? hour and minute hands. M. 17.7 x 14 cm., rectangular with later securing brackets, foliate engraved backplate with stiff-leaf border, four ringturned pillars, two spring barrels with fusees and gut lines, verge ecapement with bob pendulum and pierced and engraved backcock, cord-pull quarter repeating on two bells mounted above the movement. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 39 x 25 x 16.5 cm overall.
