Paul Garnier, Horloger, 6 & 16 rue Taitbout, Paris, No. 6802, made for the Paris - Lyon - Mediterranee, railway company, circa 1860. Very fine silver hunting cased decimal Tachometer No. 41, Systeme E. Marie, with decimal minute retorter.
C. Four body, massive, "forme quatre baguettes" , polished, the back engraved: "P. L. M. No. 41", the tachometer table engraved inside the cover calculated for one kilometer. Hinged silver cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals and 10 x 10 divisions. Blued steel hands. M. 22"' silvered brass, 2/3 plate with going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Tachometer bolt and reset slide in the band. Signed on the dial and cuvette. Diam. 58 mm.
