A. S. & F. (Armand Schwob Freres, Chaux-de-Fonds), Swiss, made for the English Market, circa 1890. Fine small 18K gold hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating "Grande and Petite Sonnerie" striking clock-watch.
C. Four body, massive "bassine et filets" with engineturned cover and back, the cover with a monogram within a foliate engraved escutcheon. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 17 '" , gilt brass, three-quarter plate, double train with differential winding, English type pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve. Quarter repeating, "Grande and Petite Sonnerie "striking on gongs with slide in the band, "Grande/Petite Sonnerie " and "Silence/ Sonnerie" selection levers on border of the bezel. A. S. & F. Trademark punched on the case. Diam. 50 mm.
