Unsigned, Swiss, No. 44075, made by Henchoz Freres and regulated by A. Hillgren, circa 1895. Extremely fine, 18K gold, hunting cased, keyless pocket chronometer with one minute tourbillon regulator.

C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets, " polished. Gold cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel pear hands. M. 19 "' , frosted and pale gilt, Technicum calibre, 15 jewels, spring detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve. One minute tourbillon with threearm polished steel cage, driven by the minute wheel. Accompanied by copies of the timing certificates. Diam. 56 mm.

Literature: Illustrated and described in Mies: Das Tourbillon, p. 157, and recorded by him, p. 348 as controlled at the Observatory of Neuchatel in 1895-1896, for the account of Henchoz Freres, Le Locle, regulate by A. Hillgren. According to the shape of the cage and the date it was made, one might think the tourbillon was supplied by Albert Pellaton. Entered for the contest at the Astronomical Observatory of Neuchatel in 1895, in the pocket Chronometer category, this piece was tested one month in five positions and for heat and cold isochronism. It was classified the 50th out of 63 with a main average daily rate 1 ' 08.
