Hri. Grandjean & Cie, (Le Locle), Swiss, No. 37540, made for C. Marcks & Co. Ltd, Bombay and Poona, circa 1890. Very fine 18K gold hunting cased, keyless minute repeating "Grande and Petite Sonnerie" clock-watch, made for the Indian Market.

C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets ", fully chased with foliage and formal decoration. Hinged gold cuvette partly engraved with flowers. D. Silver with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, engraved with foliage border and centre with gold cast floral decoration. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 20"', gilt brass double train with differential winding, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Striking and repeating on gongs with bolt in the band, Grande/Petite Sonnerie/Silent, selection levers on the bezel. Signed on dial and movement by the Indian retailer, Grandjean Trademark on the case. Diam. 57 mm.
