George Prior, London, No. 14035, made for the Islamic Market, circa 1810. Fine 18K gold and enamel pair cased quarter repeating watch.
C. Double body outer, the bezels with a white and azure champleve enamelled floral decoration, the back panel with a fine composition of painted summer flowers against a turquoise ground. Inner bassine, the band pierced and engraved with foliage. Gilt brass dust cap. D. White enamel with Turkish numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with rack and pinion regulator, gilt brass English style cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial, dust cap and back plate. Diam. 59 mm.
