Lepaute, Horloger du Roy a Paris, No. 2553, with Paris hallmarks for 1785. Fine 18K gold, dumb quarter repeating watch with special escapement.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, polished, by Amy Gros (Master mark). D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Gold "pear " hands with skeletonised tip. M. Hinged gilt brass with conical pillars, fusee with chain, virgule escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass balance cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on the case by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial, dial plate and back plate. Dian. 53 mm.
