Unsigned, German, circa 1880. Fine tortoiseshell, singing bird box, in. black leather fitted box.

C. Two body, entirely made of tortoiseshell with hinged back panel for the key compartment.-The gilt brass singing bird cover engraved with birds and foliage. Singing bird movement: rectangular plates with going barrel and rectangular bellow, the bird with moving wings and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass engraved grill. Dim. 100 x 70 x 33 mm.
