Bovet, Fleurier, (Val de Travers), No. 232, Swiss, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1830. Very fine 18K gold and enamel, centre seconds watch with special escapement.
C. Two body, bezels with red, pink and green champleve enamelled decoration, the pendant and bow with matching decoration, the back with multi coloured painted Summer flowers against a pink ground. Hinged polished gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds ring. Gold "spade" hands. M. Gilt brass, Chinese calibre, fully engraved with free standing barrel, single wheel Duplex escapement, three-arm balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, ruby end-stone, flat balance spring with regulator. Signed on the movement. Diam. 58 mm.
