Ilbery, London, No. 7003, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1815. "Heartrending farewell" Very fine 18K gold and enamel center seconds watch, painted in the manner of Richter, with special escapement.
C. Double body, the fixed bezel, pendant and bow, with champleve enamelled decoration, the back enamel panel with a fine painted scene depicting Achille leaving Andromaque and his son Astyanax. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds ring. Gold "spade " hands. M. Gilt brass, fully engraved, Chinese caliber with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement, five-arm polished steel balance, diamond end-stone, flat balance spring with regulator. Signed on the movement. Diam. 57 mm.
