Ilbery, London, No. 6116, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1790. Important and very fine 18K gold, enamel and hardstone center-seconds watch, with special escapement.

Octagonal, polished frame, inset with 31 panels of cornelian and dendritic agate, back centred with a large panel of dendritic agate within split-pearl border, scarlet white and blue champleve enamelled pendant, bow and button finial. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, minute marks. Gold skeletonised Breguet hands with counterpoised center seconds. M. 18"' , gilt brass, Chinese calibre, fully engraved with free standing barrel, single wheel Duplex escapement, plain polished steel five-arm balance, flat balance spring and diamond end-stone. Signed on the movement. Dim. 110 x 65mm.
