Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1790. Very fine 18K gold and enamel pearl-set watch.

C. Double body, Directoire with split-pearl set bezels and pendant, the back enamel panel painted with a very fine allegory of Painting, depicting the effigy of virtue assisted by Psyche and Amor, painting the portrait of her loved one. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals and outer minute ring. Gold skeletonised "spade" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Diam. 53 mm.
