Made by C.H. Meylan, No. 5114, Swiss, for Bigelow, Kennard & Co., Boston, Mass. circa 1895. Very fine 18K gold, moon phase astronomical, "triple complication", keyless, minute repeating, watch with perpetual calendar, split-seconds chronograph and instantaneous 60 minute recorder.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished the back engraved with a monogram. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with a dedication dated November 24th 1898. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer red Arabic minute and seconds ring, sunk subsidiary dials for the days of the week, the month with inner leap-year cycle and outer minute register, dates and subsidiary seconds with inner moon phase aperture. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 18"', nickel plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 39 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Splitseconds chronograph with visible work, button on the winding crown and push piece in the band. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 51 mm.
