Unsigned, Swiss, made for the American Market, retailed by "La Montre Americaine", 4, rue Mahon, Alger, circa 1890. Fine and unusual 18K pink gold hunting cased, keyless quarter repeating automaton watch.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished, cover and back engraved with monograms. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals (restored), the centre with chased two coloured gold automaton Jacks, applied over a blued steel ground, striking hours and quarters on two bells. Fancy gilt paste-set hands. M. 19"', nickel plated three-quarter plate, "a vagues decoration", the back plate with applied gilt medals awarded in different exhibitions, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. hl very good condition. Diam.54 mm.
