L. Leroy & Cie. No. 1199, case No. 10224, circa 1914. Very fine and elegant 18K gold, keyless pocket chronometer, with chronograph and instantaneous 60 minute recorder. Bulletin de Premiere classe de l'Observatoire National de Besancon, awarded at the Timing Contest organised in 1914.

C. Three body, massive, "Empire", polished, the back with the blue champleve enamel initials "H.M.S." within a white enamelled circular line.Hinged gold cuvette. D. Gold engine turned with Breguet numerals on a matt chapter ring, subsidiary dials for subsidiary seconds and minute register. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18"', gilt brass with punch-mark in form of a viper's head set by the Observatory of Besancon, 23 jewels, straight line lever escapement, brass-invar Guillaume balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve adjusted by Grogg. Chronograph with visible work, the button on the winding crown. Signed on the dial, cuvette and movement. In very good condition with copies of the timing contest records and of the Bulletin. Diam. 50 mm.
