Unsigned, Neuchatel, Swiss, circa 1780. Very fine eight day going, hour and half-hour striking and repeating, brass and multi-coloured horn veneered Louis XV cartel and bracket, Boule work "en contre-partie", with carillon.

C. Shaped, entirely overlaid with polished brass inlaid with multi-coloured horn floral decoration, applied with gilt bronze rocaille and floral ornaments and topped by a gilt bronze urn, the bracket decorated en suite. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Pierced and engraved gilt brass Louis XVI hands. M. Brass rectangular with turned pillars, going barrel both on the going and the striking train, verge escapement, half seconds beating pendulum with silk suspension. Striking and repeating on two bells with striking work on the back plate. Musical train with fusee and chain, fly regulator, carillon on 12 bells with 22 hammers, 17,3 cm. long pin cylinder of 5,4 cm. diameter, playing 9 different melodies. The musical train is released by the striking train at each hour or at will, with optional lever for repeating or automatic change of the melody. In very good condition. Dim. 134 x 51 x 22 cm.
