Bovet, Fleurier, No. 800, Swiss, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1840. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, pearl-set centre second watch with two-tone movement and special escapement.
C. Three body, Empire, the band with champleve enamelled decoration, split-pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, the back enamel panel painted with a fine composition of Summer flowers on a powder blue ground. Hinged gold glazed cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Gilt brass, "Chinese" calibre, silvered plate and gilt scalloped brid fully engraved with scrolls, free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement with steel escape wheel, the three-arm balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring and regulator. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 68 mm.
