Paul Garnier, France, No. 1269, circa 1830. Fine and rare gilt bronze, hour and half-hour striking early carriage clock with alarm and special patented escapement, in original leather covered fitted travelling box.
C. Gilt bronze "one-piece", glazed on four sides and top. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute and alarm setting ring. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, early type of Paul Garnier frictional rest escapement with double escape wheel and single ruby pallet on the balance staff, plain gold threearm brass balance, flat balance spring. Striking and alarm on a bell. Signed on the back plate, numbered beneath the bell. In very good condition. Dim. 11,5 x 9 x 7,5 cm. excluding the handle.
