Paul Garnier, Paris, No. 2156, circa 1880. Fine gilt bronze, eight-day going, quarterrepeating "petite sonnerie" carriage clock with alarm, in original fitted travelling box.
C. Gilt brass, "Gorge", glazed on four sides and top. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary dial for the alarm setting. Blued-steel "Romaines simples" hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, bimetallic balance, blued-steel flat balance spring. Striking repeating and alarm on a bell with button on the top and optional strike/silent lever in the base. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 12,5 x 8 x 7 cm. excluding the handle.
