Enderlin a Bale (Swiss), circa 1710. Fine and unusual, silver quarter repeating Louis XIV Oignon.
C. Double body oignon, the bezel engraved with foliage decoration, the back chased with an allegorical scene and representation of the four seasons (rubbed) alternating with pierced and engraved decoration. D. Gilt brass with Roman numerals and Arabic minute chapters on enamel cartouches, the centre chased with foliage. Blued steel Louis XIV hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain and female winding square, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short flat balance spring, gilt brass cock applied with a fine enamel plaque, painted with a lady's portrait on a black ground in the manner of the Huaud's workshop. Repeating on a bell (later) by depressing the pendant. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
