Notes

Typical of the early work of Pierre Huaud le Pere, this case was certainly produced just before he was appointed as Master and therefore was not yet allowed to sign. The scene depicted on the back of this watch is copied from a celebrated painting by Simon Vouet after the Cesare Ripa iconography.
