Unsigned, Swiss, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1900. Very fine 18K gold and enamel, hunting cased, pearl-set, keyless minute repeating watch.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", splitpearl set bezels and bow, the cover with a painted scenes depicting a romantic youg man playing the serenade for two maidens, sitting in a garden. The backs with flowers on the foreground of a landscape. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, and sunk subsidiary seconds, paillonne divisions and central decoration. Gold Louis XV hands. M. Glazed 14"', nickel plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. In very good condition. Diam. 41 mm.
