?Knights in Armor? Maurice Ditisheim, La Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 2828. Made circa 1895. Fine, hunting-cased, keyless, quarter-repeating, 18K pale pink gold pocket watch with automaton Jacks.

C. Four-body, "bassine", engine-turned covers, polished band. Gold hinged cuvette over glazed gold bezel to view the movement. D. Small off-white enamel, radial Roman numerals separated by gold paillons, outer gold paillon minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, flanked by two knights appearing to repeat the hours and quarters on bells, the whole on a translucent Imperial blue guilloché enamel ground. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 44 mm (20???), frosted gilt, 19 jewels, wolf?s tooth winding, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance-spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Case stamped with maker?s trademark registered on April 4, 1892. Diam. 55 mm.
