Peter Speake-Marin IIs a young British watchmaker and member of the prestigious AHCI organization (Academy of Independent Watchmakers) in Switzerland, whose list of members includes illustrious names like George Daniels, Svend Andersen, F. P. Journe and Philippe Dufour. Speake-Marin was born in 1968 and began his horological career at London?s Hackney Technical College and then went on to study at the prestigious Swiss watchmaking school WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Program) in Neuchatel. Afterwards he worked for several years in London as a specialist for highly collectible antique watches, where he restored countless horological works of art from the greatest watchmakers and houses in history. He returned to Switzerland specializing in complicated modern watches at Renaud & Papi, Audemars Piguet's complications specialists in Le Locle and in 2000, after 15 years of study, he fulfilled his personal dream of opening his own independent workshop in Rolle. Here he has designed and built unique pieces like the ?Foundation? pocket watch, a pocket watch with tourbillon, or the minute-repeating and tourbillon ?Piccadilly? wristwatch. He has introduced the ?Piccadilly Collection?, which comprises various wristwatch models including a perpetual calendar wristwatch and a tourbillon wristwatch. In 2005 he worked with the Harry Winston Company on a special project watch, the ?Excenter Tourbillon?, which was introduced at the Basel Fair.
