Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1840. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, extra flat half hunting cased watch with a Bagnolet calibre and eccentric dial.

C. Double body, "bassine pincee", the cover profusely engraved and engine-turned with floral decoration, two half-length figures and musical trophies above the dial aperture. The back decorated en suite and centred with a painted enamel Oriental scene. Hinged gold engineturned cuvette with dial aperture. D. Eccentric silver engine-turned with Roman numerals. Gold Breguet hands. M. 16"', gilt brass, Bagnolet inverted calibre with the free standing barrel and the train of wheel sunk in the single plate. Cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Female winding squares. hl very good condition. Diam. 43 mm.

Notes

The movement being inverted in the Bagnolet calibre, the escapement and the wheel train are usually concealed beneath the dial. In this watch with a small eccentric dial, they are disclosed by the cuvette.
