Chevalier & Cie. (Geneva), No. 1915, circa 1790. Fine and elegant, 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set quarter repeating watch with protecting case.
C. Double body, Directoire with split-pearl set bezels, the back inset with a blue enamel panel over engine-turning, painted with a fine portrait of a maiden. Glazed gilt brass protecting case. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 56 mm.
