Unsigned, Austrian, circa 1860. Fine silver and enamel oval snuff box with built-in automaton watch.

C. Double body, oval, fully decorated, the red translucent enamel ground with a spray of paillonne gold stars, the band with eight small landscape in cartouches.The cover with a fine automaton painted scene centred with the watch, depicting two gentlemen in a boudoir, conversing with a lady at the spinning-wheel, outer four small portraits. The back with a painted pastoral scene depicting a courting couple in a landscape with outer four small portraits. D. Small white enamel with Arabic numerals. Blued steel hands. M. 16"', silvered, bar calibre with going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. The top pivot of the escape wheel carries the spinning-wheel which revolves with it. In good condition. Dim. 60 x 79 mm.
