Unsigned, Central Europe, circa 1810. Fine and unique 18 ct. gold watch with ivory movement, specially made for the Empress Josephine, Napoleon's wife.

C. Double body Louis XVI with glazed back, chased with leaf decoration. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals and outer minute ring with star divisions, painted floral decoration and gilt inscription: Josephinae Gallorum Primae Imperatrici (hair lines on border). Gold "pear" hands. M. Hinged ivory full plate with baluster pillars, fusee with chain, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, large ivory cock pierced and engraved with the Imperial coat-of-arms of Josephine. In very good condition Diam. 42 mm.
