A.H.B. (Abram Henry Berthoud), Neuchatel, No. 127, dated 1853. Very good eight day going, quarter Grande and Petite Sonnerie striking, pull quarter repeating Neuchateloise bracket clock with pull wind alarm and matching bracket.
C. Shaped black-painted wood with gilt flower and foliate decoration, glazed door, gilt brass engine-turned bezels to the door and dial, curved gilt feet made in one piece with the beading to the base of the clock, gilt ball at the top. D White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel hands with red paste-set stars. M. brass, rectangular plated, two train, going barrels to both trains, verge escapement, flat bob pendulum with silk suspension, striking on two gongs, pull cord repretition with typical Neuchateloise rack repeating work on the back plate with Grande/Petite Sonnerie/Silent lever. Pull wind alarm on a bell. Trade mark and date punched on the back plate. Very good condition Dim. 95 x 37 x 15 cm.
