C. Burr walnut veneered, entirely decorated with a fine marquetry of birds, flowers, angel, butterfly and cornucopias, the door with shaped moulded frame, top rocaille carved decoration, gilt bronze frame to the lenticle aperture chased with a sun figure and rocaille decoration. Arched and domed hood with foliate frets and flanking pillasters and carved rocaille decoration, moulded rectangular base with canted corners and paw feet. D. Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, and outer Arabic minute ring with arched divisions, gilt brass matted centre with engraved foliage decoration, subsidiary seconds and apertures for the date and days of the week with personification of the conforming planets, silvered rocaille spandrels, moon phase aperture in the arch, the border engraved with lunar calendar. Blued steel "persil" hands. M. Brass rectangular with turned pillars, anchor escapement, seconds beating pendulum with spring suspension. Striking on two bells. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Dim. 255 x 56 x 30 cm.
