Notes

Mantel regulators by Robin are always extremely fine, even more so when they are with remontoir and a striking work. This type of remontoire is very similar and based on the same principle to that of the movement by Robin, with two barrels and remontoir, described and illustrated by Moinet in his Traite d'Horlogerie, pages 7 to 11 with plate. Barbezat Elie, enamel dial maker, was active in Paris, rue Bertin, as soon as 1768. Mouginot, spring maker, was working for Breguet and Louis Berthoud.
