Unsigned, No. 9840, French, circa 1890. Fine gilt bronze, eight-day going hour and half-hour striking and repeating carriage clock.
C. Gilt bronze, "Gorge Anglaise", glazed four faces and top. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Blued steel "Turques". Polished gilt brass dial plate overlaid with a fine pierced and chased, frosted and gilt scene of a dog hunting pheasants in a wood. M. Brass rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel flat balance spring and regulator. Striking and repeating on gongs with button on the top. In very good condition. Dim. 14 x 9.5 x 8.5 cm., excluding the handle.
