Double body, Louis XVI, the bezels with chased decoration, the back panel enamelled with a finely painted scene of a maiden in classical dress, paying tribute to the altar of Love, over an opalescent ground, outer paillonne decorated border. Gilt brass glazed outer case. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer minute ring and inner red Arabic date ring. Gold hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge .escapement, plain gilt brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
