?Two-Day Marine Chronometer? Gebr. Eppner, Berlin, No. 189. Made circa 1940. Fine, mahogany, two-day marine chronometer with power reserve indicator.
C. Three-body mahogany box with glazed panel in the top under hinged lid with fitted catch, brass handles, brass plate for a signature, key in a corner bracket, key-lock in front, brass bowl with threaded glazed bezel, gimbal ring locked by swiveling arm pressing sideways against the base of the cylinder. D. Silvered, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o'clock, 56-hour power reserve at 12 o'clock. Gold "Spade" hands. M. 82 mm., brass full plate with recess for the mainspring barrel, spotted decoration, cylindrical pillars, secured by screws, 11 jewels, reversed fusee and chain, Earnshaw spring-detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with free-sprung polished alloy balance spring with terminal curves, two cylindrical temperature adjustment weights, two mean time adjustment nuts, escapement jewelled, diamond endstone. Dial and movement signed. Dim.17 x 18 x 18 cm.
