?Rolling Ball Clock? Probably English. Made in the second half of the 20th Century. Fine, gilt brass and wood, 8-day going, oscillating path ?Congreve? type rolling ball clock.
C. Four tapered pillars supporting a square frame, the movement mounted above, turned wood and brass spire finials, raised on wooden ball feet. D. Three silvered annular chapter rings, to the left for the hours with radial Arabic numerals and baton markers, in the center the minutes with radial Arabic numerals and baton markers, to the right the seconds with Arabic 30 and 60 second numerals. Blued steel hands. M. Pierced brass plates with four massive pillars, reverse fussee with wire, the escape wheel with fly released every 15 seconds, attached via a rod to a horizontal tilting brass plate slotted for the running of the steel balls. Dim. 43 x 32 x 31 cm.
