?Louis XV Cartel Clock? Jean-Baptiste Baillon, a Paris, No. 1368. Made circa 1750. Very fine and rare, small, gilt bronze cartel clock with hour striking and pull-quarter repeat.
C. Finely chased with asymmetrical rocailles, scrolls and clouds, two winged cherubs below the dial flanking and aperture for viewing the pendulum, surmounted by the figure of a young lady, her arm gesturing. D. White enamel with blue radial Roman numerals, gold fleur-de-lys half hour markers, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals. Pierced and chased gilt brass hands. M. 12.5 x 9.5 cm, rectangular gilt brass with canted lower corners, large going barrel driving the going and striking, anchor escapement, spring suspension and bob pendulum, striking the hours on a bell and pull-wind quarter repeating. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 55 x 25 cm. To be sold without reserve
