?Ormolu Traveling Clock? Derabours a Paris. Made circa 1760. Very fine and very rare, small, early, center seconds ormolu hour and half hour-striking traveling clock, specially designed to be secured on the wall of a ship?s cabin.
C. Gilt bronze, waisted, chased with foliate and rocaille decoration, folding handle at the top and another on the base. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute markers. Gilt brass ?Louis XV? hour and minute hands, blued steel center second hand. M. Circular, gilt brass, full plate with turned pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock with large garnet endstone, striking on a bell, the striking train with fixed barrel and locking plate. Dial signed. Dim. 28 x 18 x 10 cm.
