?Skeletonized Quarter Repeating? Lépine, Swiss. Made circa 1820. Very fine, thin, 18K gold quarter-repeating skeletonized pocket watch with visible escapement and repeating mechanism.

C. Three-body, ?Directoire?, engine-turned, reeded band. Spring-loaded gilded glazed cuvette. D. White enamel, annular with Breguet hour numerals and outer minute track, glazed center disclosing a blued steel ground, engraved gilt wheel bridges, gold wheel train and the escapement. Blued steel ?Breguet? hands. M. Gilt brass, skeletonized, full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, gold going train, cylinder escapement with steel escape wheel, plain steel three-arm balance with flat balance spring, polished steel pierced balance bridge, polished steel repeat work on the back plate, repeating on gongs with shaped hammers in cut-away apertures in the backplate and activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 57 mm.
