An Oriental carved, circular jade, triple-footed ink well, the cover with onyx and carved jade, topped with a jade sphere handle on a rectangular, stepped onyx base, ornamented with two seated monkeys each topped with a bird and each carved from a single piece of bi-coloured jade, the bird's tail and crest tipped with black enamel; ink well lined with silver, enamel and 18K yellow gold. Measuring approx. 10.65 x 7.23 cm. Accompanied by original fitted leather box. Cartier Certificate of Authenticity N° 2428.
