?Jacot Patent Winding? Charles E. Jacot, Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 8942. Made for the American market, circa 1875. Very fine and rare, 18K gold hunting-cased, keyless pocket watch with helical balance spring and Charles Jacot?s patent winding and hand-setting mechanism.

C. Four-body, massive, with inclined bezels, the front cover with central small engraved initial, engine-turned, reeded edges, knurled band. Hinged gold cuvette, the inside with engraved dedication. D. White enamel, threepiece, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track divided into fourths, Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gilt and blued steel "Morning glory" hands. M. 45 mm. (20'''), patented half-plate caliber, 19 jewels, some in screwed gold chatons, straight line calibrated and counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold adjustment screws, blued steel helical balance spring, index regulator, patented Jacot winding/setting system.
