?Charging Bull? Montandon, Locle, No.3038. Made for the Hispanic market, circa 1880. Fine, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold, hunting-cased keyless pocket watch.
C. Four-body, ?bassine et filets? with floral, foliate and geometric chased decoration, the front cover centered by a bull charging a horseman, the back cover with a bird amongst foliage. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border over a glazed gold-rimmed cover. D. Silver and gold with painted radial Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, outer minute track, fully engraved and applied with cast gold floral decoration. Black steel ?spade? hands. M. 18???, nickel-plated, "fausses côtes? decoration, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Cuvette signed. Diam. 52 mm.
