?Urn and Swag? John Taylor, London, No. 1181, circa 1785. Fine and rare large gilt brass pair-cased center-seconds watch with a stop feature, made for the Chinese market.
C. Outer: two-body, back engraved with a flower vase, bezels engraved with floral pattern. Inner: two-body, ?bassine? polished. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers. Gold ?beetle and poker? hands. M. 63 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, steel balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock with ruby endstone, lever protruding from under the bezel at 9 o?clock for stopping the watch for precision time setting.
