?Golden Flowers? French. The chatelaine with French hallmarks for 1760-61. Very fine and rare, small, 18K varicolored gold and diamondset quarter-repeating à toc watch with matching chatelaine, intaglio seal and a matching key.
C. Two-body, "Louis XV", back centered with applied multi-colored gold flowers over sunburst pattern engraving, border with repoussé rocailles, front bezel with applied repeated stiff-leaf pattern, rose-cut diamond-set pendant. Chatelaine: with four links, each with applied multicolored gold flowers, two chains with matching links on each side, one for the intaglio seal, the other for the matching gold key. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2 o'clock. Diamond-set pierced hands. M. 26 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, repeating on gold blocks activated by depressing the pendant. Punched with French gold guarantee marks on the spoon. Diam. 34 mm, length with chatelaine: 21 cm.
