Not signed , Swiss, No. 337, made in the 1930's for Fine and unusual silver gilt and enamel eight day going alarm dock with singing bird in the base. In original green shagreen covered fitted box.
Cylindrical, engine-turned in a basket work pattern with pink translucent champlevé enamel bezel, mounted between two fluted columns on the rectangular matching base with singing bird, the enamelled lid painted with a view of Lac Léman, the the William Tell Chapel on the left, the Mont Blanc on the background. D. Silver gilt with Arabic numerals, sunk centre and subsidiary alarm setting chapters. Blued steel Breguet bands. M. Circular nickel plated three-quarter plate with going barrels both for the going and the alarm trains, 13 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance-spring. Striking on gongs. Singing bird movement with going barrel and two cams commanding the beak and wing movements of the bird, which also turns from right to left. The singing bird is activated at will by means of a slide on the front face or by the alarm mechanism. In very good condition. Dim. 15 x 10.6 x 5.7 cm.
