C. Bruguier à Genève No. 518, circa 1850. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, singing bird box in original tortoise-shell covered fitted box.

C. Two part rectangular, cover and bottom engraved with vine leaf decoration over engineturned ground, front and side panels with similar décoration but with hunting scenes and hunting trophies . Hinged compartment for the key. Bird cover enamel panel painted with a fine landscape panel, a cascade on the foreground. Pierced and engraved gold grid. Multi-coloured feathered bird with moving body, wings, tail, opening beak and turning head. M. Brass plate, fusee with chain, stacked cams, fly regulator and rectangular bellow. Signature scratched on the movement and original label inside the bottom of the box. In very good condition. Dim. 89 x 55 x 31 mm.
