Madhras Maurer, Fiesa, German, circa 1740. Very rare small gilt-metal striking and alarm table dock with original leather fitted case.

C. Shaped hexagonal, glazed side windows with engraved panels (three replaced), hinged bezel and base with turned feet and finials. Suede-lined tooled leather fitted travelling case. D. White enamel, Roman hour and Arabic five minute numerals (small damages). Engraved gilt brass Louis XV hands with concentric alarm dise. M. Hexagonal with gilt back plate, going-train with fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass balance with flat balance spring. Engraved and pierced gilt continental cock. Hour-striking with provision for repeating and alarm on a bell (alarm train restored). Signed on the backplate. In fairly good condition. Diam. 71 mm.
