Filon à Paris, circa 1795. Fine and unusual, eight day going, hour and hall hour striking, white marble and ormolu dock, with Republican calendar.

Flanked by caryatids, cornucopia, and fire pots decorated by three ram's heads, the movement is supported by a white marble column applied with gilt bronze astronomical trophies, a poodle playing with a goose at the top. Shaped white marble base on six gilt brass bun feet with applied foliage decoration and centred with a high relief gilt bronze cock. D. White enamel with boit Breguet numerals and inner Republican calendar on 30 days. Gilt brass interlaced chased hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with going barrels both on the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the dial. In very good condition. Dim. 55 x 38 x 10 cm.
