Not signed, early 19th Century A fine and rare silver Japanese paper-weight dock.

C. Rectangular horizontal; silver with lightly engraved foliate decoration, sliding glazed cover, storage compartment. D. 24 engraved lozenge shaped hour plaques, set length ways along the case, single index sliding in a slot along side. M. Gilt brass, plated, verge escapement, barrel placed at one end of the case, fusee at the other, the long length of gut fine between them serving to draw the index along the length of the hour scale, wheel train above fusee, pierced engraved visible bridge-type cock on top plate with floral decoration. In very good condition. Dim. 15 x 3 x 1.8 cm.
